Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026
Pocket Magnet is a puzzle game made by TASHNAZ ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and the choices you have. We don't ask for your name, email or any account, and we never sell your data.
Short version
- Your progress (coins, stars, helpers, skins, settings) is saved on your device.
- Leaderboards use an anonymous ID, your score and a generated name like "Swift Magnet 42".
- Anonymous usage stats and crash reports help us fix and improve the game. You can turn the stats off in Settings.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob: videos you choose to watch for a reward, and short full-screen ads between rounds (never during play).
- If you install the game from one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram, Meta helps us measure that (not in Europe; off when you turn off usage stats).
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress and settings | To keep your game between sessions | Only on your device |
| Anonymous player ID (random, created by the app) | To keep one leaderboard entry per player | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Leaderboard entries: score, turns, best chain, time of the score, and your generated name | To show daily and all-time leaderboards to all players | Google Cloud Firestore (Europe) |
| Usage stats: game events (for example "round ended, 98 turns"), app version, device model, OS version, an app-instance ID and approximate country derived from your IP address | To understand what's fun, balance the game and find problems | Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Crash reports: technical details of the crash, device model, OS version, an installation ID | To find and fix crashes | Firebase Crashlytics |
| Advertising data when an ad is shown: device information, IP address, ad interactions and, only if you allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier | To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud | Google AdMob |
| Ad measurement: that the game was installed and opened, purchases (item and price), finishing the tutorial and levels, device model, OS and app version, IP address and, on iPhone only if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (on Android, the device's resettable advertising ID) | To see which of our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring players, and show them to people likely to enjoy the game | Meta Platforms (Facebook App Events) |
| Purchase confirmations (which item, a transaction ID) | To give you what you bought, once | Apple App Store / Google Play, and your device |
Usage stats and crash reports are collected only in the published app. The game's own usage stats don't use the advertising identifier, and it does not access your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Ads and tracking
There are two kinds of ads. Rewarded videos play only when you tap a button to watch one (for example to get a helper, double your coins or keep going). Short full-screen ads may appear between rounds, a limited number of times a day, and never while you play.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choices first, and you can change them any time under Settings → Ad privacy options. On iPhone, the system asks whether the app may track you. If you say no, ads are still shown but are not personalised. Google's use of data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services" (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
We also advertise the game on Facebook and Instagram. To know which of those ads work, the published app tells Meta about installs, app opens, purchases and a few game milestones. This happens only outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and stops when you turn off Settings → Usage stats. On iPhone, Meta gets the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking; otherwise it measures installs in aggregate through Apple's privacy-preserving tools. Meta's use of data is described in its privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/).
In-app purchases
Coins, energy, helpers, gift boxes and tickets can be bought with real money. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we only receive a confirmation of which item was bought and a transaction ID, so we can deliver it exactly once.
Your choices
- Usage stats: turn off Settings → Usage stats and nothing more is sent, to Google or to Meta.
- Ads: change your consent in Settings → Ad privacy options, or deny tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Leaderboard name: you can pick a different generated name at any time.
- Delete your data: deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To remove your leaderboard entries, email us with the name shown on the leaderboard and the approximate date.
How long we keep data
Anonymous player IDs are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created (the game then quietly makes a new one). Leaderboard entries stay while the leaderboards exist, or until you ask us to delete them. Detailed usage stats are kept for 2 months and crash reports for 90 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Israel's Protection of Privacy Law, the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority (in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority). Because we don't know who you are, we may need the leaderboard name to find your entries. We process this data based on our legitimate interest in running and improving the game, and on your consent where the law requires it (such as personalised ads).
Children
Pocket Magnet is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers (Google, Apple, Meta) may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their standard data protection terms.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
